Cutest Little Critter

We found this critter in our garden who has eaten ALL of our strawberries.  He sneaks out there daily to check his crop.

Dads

One of my boys just happened to bring this book home from the library last week.  Jeremy and I think it is very sweet and perfect timing for Sunday.  Here are a few pages.

I know their was plenty my Dad couldn't do because he chose to be an amazing Father.  I am so grateful to my Dad for all of his time, love, patience, and care for me.  He always made me feel special, and still does.  Thanks Dad, I love you.  Happy Father's Day!

Glorious Summer

Last summer I discovered how glorious summer can be.  I enjoyed having my kids home, and was a little (tiny) bit sad when they had to go back to school.  Now I will tell you my secret.  It worked wonders for our family, and looks like this summer will be another hit.  On the last day of school I packed up the wii and put it away.  Gone.  Not an option.  Not even when you buy a wii game in the middle of the summer with your birthday money.  There is nothing you can do to get it out, never a reward for anything.   Once the wii was not an option, my kids got their imaginations back, and creativity, and ability to play together.  It was the BEST!  The other screen time options such as the ipad and computer can be earned with their summer bingo boards.  More about that later.  Today the boys played in the sprinklers and then decided to have a picnic in the backyard.  I love the things they put out for their picnic.  Half a cake, jar of peanut butter, and some fruit.  Great!  Hooray for Summer!

Summer Goals

Well, it is time for my summer goal list.  Today is the first day of summer for my kids.  After this morning, I have changed my list and narrowed it down to 2 things.

1. Teach my boys how to change the toilet paper roll.

2. Teach my boys to run laps on the high school track, lots of laps.

How are your summer lists coming along?  I will keep you posted!

Sweet Sam

Sam had a birthday this weekend.  He wanted to go camping for his birthday.  The weather was not great, but we were able to go and had a fantastic time!  It was very windy and quite chilly, but that did not stop Sam from swimming.  He just dove right into that choppy water, and so did Matthew.  Brave boys!

Nathan was so excited to go swimming until he got outside the camper and felt how cold it was.  This was how he felt about swimming when he saw the water.

I attempted to make a campfire cake I saw on pinterest.  Not a bad effort for camping I think.  Thanks for the fun idea Sam,and thanks to the cousins for joining the party and making it so fun!

Let's Celebrate!

I didn't really "get" kindergarten graduation with my first two kids.  I was just so anxious and excited to have them move on to what I thought were going to be bigger and better school years.  The graduation seemed a little silly to me, although cute of course.  Now that my oldest is going into middle school in the Fall (eek!) I realize that kindergarten could be the best, most fun and exciting school year of all.  It was so enjoyable to celebrate Matthew's year of creativity and fun and enthusiasm for learning.  The kids were adorable, and he had the most wonderful teacher.  Can he please stay another year?
